How to Create a Linktree

What Is Linktree

Linktree is a free (and paid) tool that creates a simple landing page full of all your important links. Instead of updating your Instagram or TikTok bio every week, you just send people to your Linktree, and they can choose what they want to do next.

Think of it like your digital caddie, leading people where they want to go

Step 1: Go to linktr.ee

Click “Get Started for Free.”

You can always upgrade later, but the free version gives you everything you need to begin.

Step 2: Create Your Account

  • A username (this becomes your Linktree URL, e.g. linktr.ee/PalmettoGreensGolf)
  • Email address
  • Password

Choose a username that matches your brand or business name for consistency.

Step 3: Pick Your Niche

Choose a category like:

  • Sports & Recreation
  • Business
  • Entertainment

This just helps Linktree personalize recommendations, but it doesn’t lock you into anything.

Step 4: Design Your Linktree Page

Choose your:

  • Theme (colors, fonts, background style)
  • Profile photo or logo
  • Bio line (this can match your Instagram bio or highlight a key CTA like “Book Your Tee Time”)

Step 5: Add Your Links

Click “Add Link” and fill in the:

  • Title (this is what users will see, like "Book Tee Time" or "Join Our Men's League")
  • URL (the actual web page you want to send them to)

Repeat this for every link you want to include.

Step 6: Copy & Paste Your Linktree URL

Once you’ve finished adding links, click “Share” and copy your custom URL.

Paste this into:

  • Your Instagram bio
  • Facebook “About” section
  • YouTube channel link
  • Your email signature
  • Anywhere else you want traffic to flow!

Bonus Tips to Get More Clicks

  • Use clear call-to-action titles (“Watch the Flyover,” not “YouTube”)
  • Keep it under 6 links so it’s not overwhelming
  • Update seasonally (i.e. tournament signups, summer camps, etc.)
  • Add emojis in your titles to draw the eye

Want to Go Beyond the Basics?

Upgrade to Linktree Pro for:

  • Analytics (see which links get the most clicks)
  • Scheduling links (have certain ones appear only on weekends or for limited-time promos)
  • Email capture (collect emails right from your Linktree!)
